Oakleaf Hydrangea

Hydrangea quercifolia
These plants are easy to grow and are great as accent bushes in your garden.  They reach heights and widths of 6 ft.  As the name implies, the leaves are oak-like in appearance and turn an attractive red to purple in the fall. In late spring clusters of cone-shaped flowers bloom. Initially white, they turn pink as they mature. They do well in full sun to partial shade. You can readily identify them throughout the arboretum.
