Flowering Dogwood

Cornaceae Cornus
Throughout the year this native tree displays its beauty. In the spring, about early May, showy white or pink flowers bloom. The dark green leaves in the summer turn to shades of red in the fall.  The red fruit from the flowers are particularly enjoyed by the birds. All of these attributes make this a favorite ornamental plant for homeowners. It is slow growing but can grow to 33 ft tall and 16 ft wide.Dogwoods do well in full to partial sun and require watering in the summer heat.
