Hamilton County Home Improvement Program (HIP) Available In Glendale
Glendale and other Hamilton County residents planning a home improvement or repair project are encouraged to take advantage of the Counties HIP program. Homeowners who obtain loans through this program receive a 3% discount on the interest rate offered by the participating banks. Borrowers with good credit may be able to obtain a fixed rate as low as 3.99% by utilizing this program. Participation in the program is not limited by income and there are a few restrictions. For example, owners of one and two family homes with assessed values of less than $300,000 (as determined by they Auditor) may apply and owners of buildings with three or more units are eligible (regardless of value). Eligible projects, with loans of up to $50,000, include repairs, additions, remodeling, furnaces, roofs, windows, siding and landscaping. Luxury items, such as pools and spa or appliances are not allowed. Loans are limited to a maximum of $50,000 and must be paid over 5yrs. More information is available at www.hamilton-co.org or by contacting Patrick Hanrahan at 946-8234. Participating banks include Fifth Third, Key, North Side, National City or US Bank.
