Thank you to everyone for making the fire department's Open House such a success. It was a great time of fellowship culminating with the notification to Hamilton County Communications Center that Station 45 is back in service. What a time of celebration it was. In addition to many from the community, a number of our neighboring departments came to show their support. If you were unable to attend, we will be having more Open House times throughout the year. As your village fire department, we look forward to serving you this year and for many years to come.
CPR/FIRST AID--Have you ever wanted to take a CPR or First Aid class? Is your CPR or First Aid card current? Perhaps now is the time take this important class. Beginning in February, the fire department will begin offering CPR and First Aid classes the second Tuesday of each month. Our first class begins February 13th at the Fire House at 7pm. The class is FREE. Please contact the fire department at 771.7864 to register or for further information.
COMMUNITY CLASSES--If your school, business, or community group would like a CPR, First Aid, or fire prevention class, we would love to come and provide such a class. Simply call the fire department at 771.7864 and tell us the specifics.
|

Does someone you know have trouble getting around or getting out? If so, CLICK HERE to download the Homeward Bound Project form and send it to the fire department. EMS SERVICE

Glendale Adds EMS to its Woodlawn Fire Service Contract
Effective January 1st, 2007 the Village of Woodlawn will provide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Glendale. Prior to this starting date, Woodlawn has provided fire services and Springdale the EMS services. EMS service includes life squad and paramedic responses. The Change was necessary because all officials agreed that it is best to have both fire service and EMS under one municipality to better interact with medial and service protocol.
On December 5, 2006 Village Administrator Walter Cordes wrote to Cecil Osborn, Administrator of the City of Springdale, the following letter; “On behalf of the Mayor, Council and staff of the Village of Glendale we wish to thank Springdale for the splendid service that your Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff has rendered the residents and employees of Glendale. Your city has, without a doubt, one of the finest Fire Departments in Hamilton County and all of you should be very proud. Glendale Fire Chief Michael D. Finney now has over 20 firefighter volunteers that are in training and three key supervisors have been promoted to assist him with our evolution into a viable fire department. We recently signed an agreement with the Village of Woodlawn to continue their fire service response into Glendale and to begin EMS service for a one year period or until such time as Chief Finney is confident that a dual response is no longer necessary. In closing I want to again thank you, Mayor Webster, your Council, Chief Shroyer and all of the staff that made these many years of excellent Emergency Medical services most possible. We hope that there will always be a mutually beneficial and reciprocal relationship between our two neighboring communities and whenever you have a need that we can assist with, you have but to ask.”
Residents of Glendale will not notice a difference in service or response time and should still call 911 for all calls to emergency. Woodlawn, as did Springdale, will bill the insurance companies of residents for all EMS responses. The billing system is a “soft” bill system. In the event a recipient of services chooses not to pay, they may decline to do so.
